Greeting Scavengers!

In our first game update of 2026, we added the announced new feature “Nodes” to the game. We also reworked the tutorial to improve the first steps for new players in Persist Online. Finally, we introduced several important content changes, balance updates, graphical and performance improvements, and fixed a number of bugs and issues.

1. New Content & Features

  • Added the feature “Nodes” to the game. Read more about the feature in our blog.
    • Developers Comment: Over the last months we heard a lot of feedback from the community, that we need more ways to farm/get raw materials in the game. With the new Nodes feature we took the already existing Fishing Hut system and reworked, improved, and expanded it, so that players have additional ways to farm raw materials in Persist Online.
  • Added a newly revamped player tutorial to the game to improve player onboarding.

2. Further Content Changes

  • Multiple areas (including buildings) in and around Ashwater have been expanded and populated, such as shops and several residential buildings in the inner city, as well as a train station, nightclub, casino, hotels, shops, warehouses, and memorial gardens in the industrial area.
  • Players now heal automatically when sitting down.
    • Developers Comment: We heard from players during our playtests, that they would like to have a option, where characters heal automatically when not in combat. Now with this change, in safe zones (i.e., has the “Protected Area” effect) player characters will automatically heal +50 HP per tick when sitting down. In Non-Safe Zones they will heal for +10 HP per tick. This effect stops immediately when a characters takes any damage – they will then automatically stand up.
  • Guardian Kai has returned to the game – also more new NPCs in several areas have been added.
    • Developers Comment: We added these NPCs to prepare for the upcoming Faction Quest System.
  • Renamed Infected Biker to Biker Zombies.
  • Spawned Rotworms will now die automatically after 60 seconds.
  • Added missing components to the following weapon models to make them visually more realistic:

  • Updated and optimized several language localisations.
  • Adjusted and optimized Game Journal Entries.

3. Balance Changes

  • Increased armor skill gain by 25%.
  • Reduced the amount of time when character, NPC and creature nameplates will appear/disappear.

4. Graphic and Performance Changes/Fixes

  • Added outline shading for characters, creatures and world objects.
    • Developers Comment: The reason for this change is, that we want to give the game a more distinct and timeless feel/look for the future.
  • Added a new graphic setting under the advanced graphic options “Upscaling” to give players more options to optimize game settings and improved performance (FPS).
    • Developers Comment: Please note, that the newly added AMD FSR settings under the “Upscaling” graphic options are still under developement and are not final. Our internal tests on several machines showed significant FPS improvements, especially for PCs that support full HD or higher settings.
  • Updated the visual effects for character level up, skill level up as well as loot, harvestables and quest particle effects.
  • Improved the terrain culling system to avoid various visual glitches.
  • Updated the configuration of various dynamic weather situations.
  • Fixed a graphical issue with wind movement of various different nature assets.
  • Optimized the game client memory usage.

5. Bugfixes

  • Fixed an issue where players can get stuck between car and park coin machines.
  • Fixed an issue with graphic flickering of Lampposts.
  • Fixed an issue where Ruffian’s Rage specialization would trigger even at full health.
  • Fixed an issue with the tooltips for passive skills in the Mechanics tree.
  • Fixed a bug where player can get stuck between buildings.
  • Fixed a problem with compass marker where incorrect node positions can be displayed.
  • Fixed a bug where harvestables could be seen through the ground.
  • Fixed an issue where some shattering debris and particles were missing.
  • Fixed an issue with the quest “Black Ink, Black Heart – The Final Page”, where the NPC wouldn’t drop the quest item.
  • Fixed an issue where Emergency Dash could be used with 0 Stamina.
  • Fixed an issue where guild invitation notification disappears, so that players cannot respond to the invite.
  • Fixed an issue where the First Aid Ultimate Skill “Resurrection” was revived and the Weapon Identities of some weapons stopped working.
  • Fixed an issue where duplicating items via the Auction House was possible.
  • Fixed an issue where a warning appeared for harvestables that didn’t require a tool.
  • Fixed an issue where nameplates appeared blurry or flickering.
  • Fixed an issue where the claim timer wouldn’t stop when taking damage.
  • Fixed an issue where pressing Enter in Party Mode did not correctly activate the chat.
  • Fixed an issue where icons in the action bar were larger than the intended space.
  • Fixed an issue when there is insufficient space available in the shelter storage the “Complete” and “Cancel” buttons for tasks were not correctly enabled/disabled.
  • Fixed an issue where players who died upon entering the safe house and then left it received an incorrect character status.
  • Fixed a clipping issue for Pink Cat Ears Cap.
  • Fixed an issue where manufacturing common armor pieces with refinements yielded incorrect level values.
  • Fixed an issue where the durability of excellent and superior ranged weapons could not be correctly increased through the Ballistic Workshop of the safehouse.
  • Fixed an issue where crafting common armor with refinements in the safehouse produced an incorrect refinement level for the created item.
  • Fixed an issue in some areas around Junction where enemies could not reach a character due to being blocked by world objects.
  • Fixed several text typos in the game.
