Pre-Alpha Patchnotes v.0.6.0.702 min read

Greetings, Scavengers!

In today’s pre-alpha update, we are implementing several new content changes (Quest Markers, new Nodes and more) along with another round of bugfixes.

1. Content Changes

  • Added quest markers for NPCs who still have quests available for player characters.
    • Developer note: We added this feature to help players—especially in the early game—find new quests.
  • Reduced the impact of strong wind on tree and grass movement.
    • Developer note: We decided to reduced the effect due to potential motion sickness feelings.
  • Multiple areas, including buildings, in and around Ashwater have been populated.
  • Added two new Nodes (Gasstation and Hospital Laundry) in Ring 5
  • Players now receive a notification message when the try to interact with the flag of an already depleted or claimed node.
  • Thatchers and Legacy faction NPCs are now by default set as “attackable”.
    • Developer note: Originally factions were set to “not attackable by default” for new characters, which conflicted with two faction-related quests requiring players to kill Thatchers or Legacy members. Since players had to manually enable attackability in the reputation menu—without this being communicated—and this was perceived as a bug, Thatchers and Legacy are now attackable by default for new players.

2. Bugfixes

  • Fixed a bug where the Hammer Rage skill could cause enemies to become invulnerable.
  • Fixed a bug where swapping backpacks that contained items in their slots could cause the inventory to break, potentially leading to disappearing items after looting.
  • Fixed a bug where for some characters the compass was not shown in the open world after completing the beginner tutorial.
  • Fixed a bug where Overseers were inactive in fights against player characters.
  • Fixed a bug where player characters could walk through walls and stairs at the sports hall near the train station.
  • Fixed a bug where spitters were immune to knockbacks.
  • Fixed multiple issues with the feedback dialog (accessible in-game via F8).
    • Developer note: The feedback dialog can now also be opened while a player character is dead.
  • Fixed multiple graphical issues where fences were clipping into villas.
  • Fixed some graphical issue in tunnels.
  • Fixed an issue where loot particles were visible through walls.
  • Updated the tooltip for the skill Electric Field to display the correct trigger time (once every 5 seconds).
