Greeting Scavengers!
We have released a new pre-alpha update that includes several content, graphics, and sound updates, as well as bugfixes. Please find the full patch notes below:
1. Content Updates
- Reworked the new player tutorial into 3 different parts.
- Part 1 – Singleplayer Tutorial
- Developer Comments: When starting the game for the very first time, player characters must complete a guided singleplayer tutorial that introduces basic game features before entering the open world. After completing the first tutorial part with the very first character of a family, players have the option to skip this tutorial part for newly created characters of the same family and move directly to Part 3.
- Part 2 – Open World Tutorial
- Developer Comments: After entering the open world for the first time, player characters must first complete the tutorial questline that provides additional guidance and information on open-world and game features. After completing the second tutorial part with the very first character of a family, players have the option to skip this part with newly created characters of the same family and move directly to Part 3.
- Part 3 – Open World Tutorial – Bonus Quests:
- Developer Comments: Once the first two tutorial parts have been completed, player characters will have the option to accept additional open-world tutorial quests for further guidance (for example, introductory quests for each profession skill tree). These quests are fully optional, and completing them does not unlock any further quests (unlike others).
- Part 1 – Singleplayer Tutorial
- Added a new 7-day Starter Login Bonus System
- Developer Comments: Currently, only accounts that have completed Parts 1 and 2 of the new player tutorial are eligible for rewards. Accounts created in previous playtests that went through the “old” tutorial will not be able to claim these rewards. Rewards unlock every 24 hours after the previous reward has been claimed. The currently displayed rewards may change in the future.
- Multiple areas (including buildings) in and around Ashwater have been updated, expanded, and populated, such as Junction Metro Station, train tracks, Harbour District, Gas Station Node, and others.
- Added a new faction, “404”, in the northwest (including a stronghold and NPCs).
- Developer Comments: Currently, the 404 faction is not yet joinable, but players can explore the area/stronghold. Faction NPCs will be added in a coming pre-alpha update.
- Added multiple new Nodes in Ring 3, Ring 4 and Ring 5.
- Nameplate colors for NPCs, creatures, and player characters (solo, party, and guild members) have been updated.
- The amount of ammo per ammo type stack that players can carry in their inventory has been doubled.
- The term “Interrupt” for skills has been renamed to “Neutralized”. As part of this change, the skill “Interrupting Shot” has been renamed to “Neutralizing Shot”.
- Updated item and weapon modifier descriptions for improved consistency.
- Backpack slots have been moved to the bottom of the inventory instead of the top.
- We made several changes to how players can move and manage items in their inventory and Safehouse storage:
- Players can now pick up (left-click) equipped items and swap them with items in their inventory or storage.
- Players can now enter the world while holding an item in their hand.
- Players can now switch characters while holding an item in their hand.
- Players can now switch storage pages while holding an item in their hand.
- The inventory window can now be closed while holding an item in their hand.
2. Graphic- & Sound Updates
- All Safehouse portals in the world received new models and effects.
- Developer Comment: In a future update, we will introduce different portal colors to better indicate whether a player character meets the requirements to use them (green/red).

- Added a new ragdoll system for humanoid zombies and NPCs, enabling more realistic death animations and reactions.
- Added new sound effects for Hurler, Dreadnought, Enforcer, Banshee, Wraith, and Runner.

- Players can now disable the FPS/MS overlay in the interface settings.
- Reduced the size of the muzzle flash effect for machine guns.
3. Balance Updates
- Nodes:
- Reduced the time on how long a player can own a Node to 30 minutes (previously 3 hours).
- Pristine item spots on claimed nodes can now be harvested every 3 minutes (previously every 20 minutes).
- We’ve adjusted on how the effect “On Next Hit” of certain skills scales with weapon speed to ensure a more consistent and fair performance across different weapon types.
- Developer Comments: Skills with the effect “On Next Hit” that previously scaled with Active Weapon DPS now additionally factors in base weapon damage. This means the percentage damage from “On Next Hit” is now added directly on top of the weapon damage rather than being the sole scaling factor.

- Artery Shot
- Exploit Weakness
- Neutralizing Shot
