Pre-Alpha Patchnotes v.0.6.0.894 min read

Our new pre-alpha update (v.0.6.0.89) includes content, balance, and sound changes, as well as several bugfixes. Read the full patchnotes below:

1. Content Changes

  • Recycling items in the Safehouse (the area between character storage and inventory) now only triggers when the mouse button is pressed down, instead of when it is released.
    • Developer Comment: This should prevent items from being accidentally recycled when dragging them between storage and inventory and suddenly releasing the mouse button.
  • Updated “Aggressor State” – which automatically activates when a player character has the Aggressor toggle activated and harms other players:
    • Players who enter a Protected Area while the Aggressor State is active will no longer receive the “Protected Area” buff or its protection effect. Once the Aggressor State expires, the protection effect will be restored automatically.
    • Players with an active Aggressor State can no longer enter the Safehouse. Attempting to do so will show a message explaining that Safehouse access is unavailable while the Aggressor State is active.
  • Removed all enemy creatures from Ring 9 or higher areas , for example the desert city of Calinares.
    • Developer Comment: These were unfinished/work-in-progress areas and were only populated with random enemies in the past. Since we are going to rework these areas, we have decided to remove all enemies there for now. In the future, we might even restrict access to such areas entirely until they are fully finished.
  • Renamed the general term “Reload Speed” to “Reload Time”.
  • Updated the description of “Component Sets” to make it clearer how much progress using the consumable will add to an item’s mod.

2. Balance Changes

  • Changes for Harvesting Faction Quests:
    • Adjusted Harvesting Faction Quest difficulty scaling. When generated, Harvesting Faction Quests now always use the lower resource tier instead of randomly choosing between the lower and higher tier.
    • Higher-difficulty Harvesting Faction Quests now require more harvesting actions instead of increasing the required resource tier.
    • Reduced the random variance for required harvesting actions, making quest requirements more consistent.
    • Adjusted the profession-based actions for Harvesting Faction Quests:
      • Thievery and Street Smarts now require fewer actions.
      • Hunting, Mechanics, and Fishing use the standard requirement amount.
      • Electronics, Construction, and Mining require slightly more actions.
      • Woodworking and Botany require the highest number of actions.
  • Reduced the drop rate of weapons and equipment starting from Ring 2 up to Ring 8.
    • Developer Comment: We noticed that, especially from Ring 2 onward, characters would loot a lot of weapons and equipment during their adventures, which were often not needed and instead blocked inventory space. Therefore, we decided to slightly reduce the drop rate of weapons and equipment in Ring 2 up to Ring 8, so that characters have the ability to loot and carry more junk items, to recycle them into raw materials or sell them for cash. We will continue to monitor the situation and make more changes when needed.
  • Increased the drop chance from Thatcher or Legacy Supplies for the quest “Grains of Discord” from 30% to 60%.
  • Backpacks of defeated player characters now remain in the game for 60 minutes, up from 20 minutes.

3. Sound Changes

  • Accepting, canceling, and completing Faction Quests now have sound effects.
