Pre Alpha Patchnotes (v.0.6.0.94)6 min read

Our latest update expands the world of Persist Online with new content, the first iteration of Sectors, extensive weapon balancing, and several  quality-of-life improvements. Read on for all changes and bugfixes included in this patch.

1. New Content

  • Added the first iteration of our new guild PvP feature, “Sectors,” to the game, starting with the first Sector, “Junkyard.” More Sectors will be added later.

2. Other Content Changes

  • Multiple areas around Ashwater, especially in the south and east, have been expanded and populated.
  • Derrick Walsh in Junction now offers a quest for player characters who have reached Level 15 that introduces the Nodes system.
  • Added an option for players to mute other players in the in-game chat by right-clicking their family name.
    • Developer Comment: A player can mute up to 25 families. Type /mutelist in the chat for an overview of the families that have already been muted.
  • Added a new temporary UI element that displays the remaining ammunition for the equipped ranged weapon.
  • Improved how quest objects and markers are displayed on the compass.
  • Pristine Items can no longer be accidentally sold using the “Sell All” button at vendors. However, they can still be sold individually using the standard “Sell Mode.”
  • Updated outdated Journal entries.
  • Adjusted the visual effect of the special Dreadnought ability to display its actual range.
  • “Auto Walk” in the Key Bindings can now be toggled to “Auto Sprint.”
    • Developer Comment: When “Auto Sprint” is activated, a player character will automatically sprint when the key is pressed until all stamina is consumed.
  • Added the difficulty level (Ring) to zone names in the UI.
  • Updated the orientation of shoulder and wrist equipment images so that the items can be more easily identified in the inventory.
  • Added new loot filter options:
    • Different armor types (Sturdy and Flexible).
    • Ammunition.
  • Items can now be retrieved from mail by right-clicking them.
  • Implemented Shift-click to place or add individual items from the player’s hand to a target slot or stack. In addition, Ctrl+Shift-click now automatically moves half of a stack to the player’s hand.
  • Added slightly different frame borders for Flexible and Sturdy armor to make them easier to distinguish visually.
  • Pop-up windows can now also be closed by pressing Enter instead of clicking “OK.”
  • Changed the three default craftable ranged weapons for the second part of the new-player tutorial:
    • Assault Rifles: AK-47 → AK-15
    • Revolvers: M206 → S&W Model 10
    • Shotguns: M37 → SPAS-12
  • Guild Quests have been overhauled with new score-based hunting and harvesting objectives. Special enemy targets and requested tools grant triple the progress, while other valid enemies and tools still contribute. The interface and quest tracker now also display objectives more clearly, difficulty spans levels 1–10, and kill tracking has been improved. A total of 125 hunting and harvesting quests are now available across Rings 2–6.
  • Faction Quests have received several updates:
    • Improved the variety of Faction Quest tasks/missions.
    • Interactable objects for Faction Quests are now better protected by enemies.
    • The Faction Quest Receiver NPC, where a player hands in a completed Faction Quest, is now placed in an area that has the same Ring difficulty as the actual Faction Quest.

3. Balance Changes

  • Slightly adjusted the loot dropped by Elite enemies.
  • Decreased the drop chance for equipment (weapons and armor) across all Ring difficulties.
  • Further decreased the drop chance for armor by 20% in Rings 0–2 and by 33% in Ring 3 and above.
  • Reduced the penetration damage of the Machine Gun skill “Mow ’em down!”:
    • 25% instead of 50% for the base skill.
    • 50% instead of 100% for the “Way of the Impaler” specialization.
