In Persist Online, every encounter contributes to the immersive and challenging experience that defines our game. Our latest update brings a focused overhaul to NPC behavior – enhancing both their visual variety and combat tactics – to create more dynamic and engaging encounters.
Before we dive into the details of our testing strategy, we want to share a personal note from our two creators. When Tom and Ben began working on Persist Online in their spare time – shortly before the pandemic – they had a simple vision: create a game inspired by the spirit of early MMORPGs, where players make meaningful decisions and truly explore a vibrant world.
Greetings, Survivors. Our team would like to take a moment to discuss one of the cornerstone mechanics in Persist Online: the Ring System. This feature segments the open world into multiple concentric “rings”, starting at Ring 0 (the Starting Area) and stretching all the way to Ring 10.
At CipSoft, our journey began with Tibia, launched in 1997 without any sound or music. This unique choice fostered a dedicated and imaginative community, allowing players to immerse themselves in the game world through visuals and their own narratives. Celebrating Tibia’s 25th anniversary, we introduced sound and music, marking a significant milestone in the game’s history. Persist Online had sound and music in mind from the beginning.
