Based on feedback, we concluded that some of the previous armor skills were not satisfying enough, especially those in the flexible armor tree.
A quick reminder on how armor works in Persist
Each armor part is either sturdy or flexible. If it is a sturdy armor part, it contributes more to your Damage Reduction Rating and less to your Evasion Rating. Flexible parts work vice versa.
- A higher Damage Reduction Rating means you mitigate a larger percentage of all incoming damage.
- A higher Evasion Rating increases your chance to completely evade an attack and take no damage at all.
What are the new skills?
The active and passive skills in the flexible and sturdy armor trees are now closer in balance. In general, though:
- Sturdy tree skills tend to be more defensive.
- Flexible tree skills lean slightly toward offense.
Examples
1. "Vengeful Guardian" (Flexible Tree):
„All Armored Up“ in the sturdy skill tree remains the same. It provides a temporary shield that absorbs a good amount of damage.

The skill “Vengeful Guardian” has been reworked. It provides a similar but weaker shield. However, when the shield is depleted by an enemy attack, you gain a damage boost! In conclusion: some protection, and if it wasn’t enough, you can hit back even harder.
2. "Renewed Fortitude" (Flexible Tree):

Previously, this skill removed the last debuff after you lost a certain amount of HP in a short time. We admit that wasn’t very satisfying. The new version now instantly boosts your stamina and reduces running cooldowns.
Imagine taking heavy damage: your stamina is replenished, some of your skills are ready again, and you can instantly retaliate!
3. "Outfall" (Flexible Tree):

Replacing “Cleanse Me!”, this new skill „Outfall“ allows you to deal more damage and evade attacks more often for a limited time. However, beware—if you don’t finish your opponent during that window, your evasion is decreased when the buffs expire.
4. „Reverse Gambit“ (Sturdy Tree):

The underwhelming skill “Right Back at Ya!” has been replaced. The „Reverse Gambit“ removes one debuff, blocks one additional debuff for a set time, and grants a boost to your Damage Reduction. However, similar to “Outfall,” your Damage Reduction decreases for a few seconds after the buffs wear off.
