Patchnotes v.0.4.2.2 – Safehouse Preparations and several Changes3 min read

This update focuses on Safehouse Preparations and several changes within the game world.

1. New Enemies & Content

  • Added Riot Cop and Trucker zombies to the game world and redistributed some loot relevant for this change
  • Added new Painkiller consumable item which is dropped from enemies throughout Rings 1, 2 and 3

This change comes in response to the recent nerf in the drop rate of consumable items from enemies

2. Safehouse Preparations - Cooking and Recipes

  • Added fitting readable names and descriptions for all cooking effect tooltips
  • Changed duration format of cooking recipe effect tooltips
  • Changed name of recipe “Stuffed Crab Rolls” to “Crab Sushi”

The old recipe will be deleted

  • Minor change of effect duration increase/decrease calculations
  • Updated text displayed in tooltip of effects which are gained from cooking conusmables
  • Updated cooking food effect icons
  • Removed a few ingredients from some recipes
  • Reworked the tooltips for consumable items cooked from recipes

They now show a list of effects and their tiers gained when consumed with an explanation of each in the keyword section

3. Quest Changes

  • Added a new secret questline with a secret reward
  • Added a new questline “Ripple Effects” for Violet Hartwell
  • Added a new questline “Black Ink, Black Heart” for Eli Dawson
  • Added a hint to find during the Gears of the Past quest in that same building which helps with the lever sequence
  • Fixed some typos in a couple of quest dialogues
  • Fixed wrong quest marker icon being displayed during “Hidden Depths” quest
  • Removed “Loadout Lessons” quest step during starter quest to shorten it
  • Removed tutorial texts from dialogue within the Starter Quest

Instead the Journal now opens automatically to the corresponding page

4. Skill Changes

  • Added new mechanics skill “Workaholic”
  • Improved turret aiming precision
  • Updated HUD icon shown while using turrets
  • Fixed an issue with debuff duration modification of skill “Snap Out of It!”
  • Removed hint for apply skills dialog and changed text to “Are you sure?”
  • Reduced skill xp gain für Construction, Mining and Botany
  • Balancing: Increased damage of skill “Arouse Attention” from 100% to 300%

5. Journal Changes

  • Added texts regarding the Safehouse to Journal
  • Updated some texts in the Journal
  • Removed Journal push for level-up at level 2

6. Map Changes

  • Increased window size slightly for the blue grocery store in Parkside
  • Fixed some floating props across game world

7. Further Changes

  • Added label “Choose Gameworld” to the squad creation dialog
  • Added new animations for unarmed crouching
  • Colored the word “destroy” red in item destroy dialog
  • Changed fish and items used within the fishing claim to reflect newly added fish consumables and their quality better
  • Updated survival bonus- and perk icons
  • Updated loading screen texts with lots of helpful new hints
  • Updated Crosshair to turn red when the weapon has no ammo left or is broken
  • Renamed the “Heritage Society” faction to “Legacy” everywhere inGame

Existing characters will start out with their reputation reset for this faction

  • Reworded text for the “Hunted by…” effects regarding The Thatcher Cooperative as well as Legacy since you will gain these not only when killing other faction members
  • Removed ammo types .45 Colt, 5.45 M74, Nail, Poison Can
  • Replaced all old icons for consumables and replaced all consumable placeholder icons

8. General Fixes

  • Added raw materials to some items that were missing them and couldn’t be recycled properly
  • Fixed missing loot notifications
  • Fixed missing gathering animation on some harvestables such as oats and wheat
  • Fixed consume sfx
  • Fixed an issue with attacking while changing weapons
  • Fixed a bug where music tried to playback while the game client was being closed
