The update is approaching, and with it, new and groundbreaking systems are coming along the way. However, our old and new systems differ in many aspects. To ensure the smooth integration of all systems and to prevent your valuable feedback from being distorted by inconsistent progress, we have decided to wipe all current progress.
We understand how difficult it is to lose what you’ve built with a lot of love, passion, and time over the last few months and we tried to find another solution, but we hope you’ll be able to understand why we have to take this step after reading this blog post.
What will be wiped and why?
Essentially, everything except for the family and character name. Here’s a summary:
Character Progress:
Progress is always tied to the character’s level. Since we’ll need to wipe the progress, we’ll also reset each character’s level, and everyone will start at level 1 again.
Furthermore, we’ve completely redesigned the skill system, and the disparities between the old and new systems are so significant that we need to reset the skill progress and current attributes. We’ve also made some fixes on our karma system, which requires a reset to function as intended.
Resources:
Alongside the character progress reset, we will also clear all resources acquired by dismantling materials in the bunker, as well as any collected cash. The introduction of our new item system and the planned rework of the bunker necessitates another adjustment: all ongoing and past research in the bunker will be erased, and the research option will not be available anymore.
Items:
With the implementation of the completely revamped item system, we’ll also need to remove all old items. This involves deleting all auctions from the auction house, sent mails, the entire inventory, and even all items currently equipped by players. Our new item system will feature a broader variety of items – including weapons – and a more individual calculation for the weapons stats.
Others:
In addition, all mounts will be removed and the action bar will be cleared.
The future progress and success of Persist Online relies on your feedback, which is why we want to hear from you on all aspects of this game. For future tests, we will introduce the option to progress faster so you are able to test more aspects of the skill system and our game world itself. However, this also means that we’ll need additional wipes in the future.
We want to say thank you
We know how tough it is to lose something you’ve poured your heart and soul into for months and we really appreciate all your feedback and help. Therefore, we want to extend our gratitude and make a promise: After the last necessary wipe, all players who have assisted us in testing will receive a small gift.
We will provide you with more information regarding the new systems and upcoming updates in the next few weeks.
Feel free to share your feedback and concerns in our Discord channel.
